Womens Clothing – Picking The Right Size In Womens Clothing

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Looking your best usually involves a trip to the store and several hours looking through lots of womens clothing on the rack. Sure that dress is a pretty color and the cut is delicious, but does it fit you the way it should?

There are several standards to follow in trying on womens clothing to make sure it really fits you. That size on the label just doesn’t fit every single woman in that particular height/weight group. There are differences in shoulder width, arm length, upper arm circumference, bust, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs and even leg length. So, in reality the same size 14 that fits one woman won’t fit another, yet that other woman can easily (and often does) find a well fitting garment in another brand that’s also a size 14. It’s ironic, but tends to be the problem with the mass produced womens clothing available these days.

Fitting Womens Clothing

It’s important to make sure you try on everything you are going to buy at the store. Don’t be afraid of the changing rooms. Bras and underwear may be something you’ll hesitate to try on, but you can certainly try out all other kinds of outerwear from the hat on your head to the shoes on your feet.

When looking at yourself in the mirror pay close attention to how a particular piece of womens clothing lays on your body.

The shoulder seams on a top should lay just over the edge of the shoulder. If a seam hangs too far over the shoulder it will make your sleeves look too large and blousey. If the seam lies too high up on the shoulder your top will be uncomfortable and feel tight in the armpits.

Also pay attention to the bust area. The top should fit comfortably against the bust with plenty of room to move. Your bust should not strain against the fabric nor should the fabric hang down the front of your bust making it appear saggy.

Make sure you move your arms, rolling them above your head, holding them straight out to your sides and so forth. The top you are wearing should feel comfortable no matter what position you are in. The sleeves shouldn’t feel tight. Long sleeved shirts should cover your arm all the way to just beyond the bony part of your wrist when you hold it straight out.

When trying on pants they should also cover your legs just past the bony part of your ankle. When you sit down they shouldn’t ride up your leg more than an inch or so.

The crotch of the pants shouldn’t hug too tightly, nor should it hang down too far. Place two fingers between the waistband of your pants and your stomach while you are trying them on. They should fit easily without straining your pants, so your tummy has a little room to expand throughout the day.

Fitting womens clothing at the clothing store is a good way to ensure that you make your way home with the right clothing for you.

Womens Plus Size Clothing Guide

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

When someone decides to select and buy their clothes online they are opening up the doors to a wide world of choices that include the latest fashions, hard to find pieces and discounted rates. Avoid the rush and discomfort of shopping at a mall by shopping at home and spend more time relaxing with family and friends. If you have a formal engagement coming up, don’t hit the shops and elbow your way to the perfect top in your size. Choose online for the latest styles and colors with a large stockpile of your favourite size.

Finding clothes to it your body perfectly can be quite daunting. There are so many things to consider that includes fabrics, colors, styles, cuts and contouring. It can be quite easy to finding a perfect outfit by sticking to some simple rules. Don’t get caught out by what your friends think when you are trying clothes on, they may think they are doing good but they won’t be the one spending vast amounts on clothes that may only be worn once. Trust your own instinct and listen but don’t base your decisions on the advice of others. To ensure you have a great shopping experience while on the Internet, we recommend the following tips. If you feel comfortable wearing heels, choose shoes with a 1inch heel and notice how dramatically taller and slimmer you appear. Get you bra refitted every few years to ensure your bras fit comfortable and won’t cling or hang from you. Underwear shouldn’t be tight or too loose; this can create unwanted lines and make your clothes hang incorrectly.

When creating a wardrobe select the clothes that favour the shape of your body and build your style around these cuts, fabrics and colors. If you have wide shoulders avoid boatneck tops otherwise this shirt can be used to accentuate a bustline or contour the waist.

Handbags and accessories are another issue altogether. With such a variety of sizes, colors and styles there is always that wide belt or large handbag to flatter shape. Clothes should always fit with the accessories but not always be too matching as this can create a bland look. If you don’t like accessories brushing against your body, go for a strapless handbag. Belts can be used to contour waist. Rather large belts can cut the body in half, avoid this look if you think it is unflattering. The latest fashions are not always best. There are so many color, cuts to consider and they won’t fit you everytime. Choose selectively or buy clothes that resemble clothes you already have. Colors are a great way to show off or hide parts of the body. Bright clothing can attract and are great as a top to highlight a favourite asset. The same applies to dark colors; these can be used to flatter your bum or waist.

Create a look that will leave a lasting impression by mix and matching the fabrics of your clothing while keeping the color the same shade. This creates a funky look that won’t be bulky or uncomfortable. Remember to avoid clingy or baggy clothing, as these will distort your figure.

Keep these tips in mind when you are next browsing the online shopping sites. Have an eye out for clearances and sales but be ware that they are on sale for a reason. Create a look that is timeless and practical rather than expensive and ‘gotta have that now look.’ Select your clothes online, draw up a wishlist then step instore for fast shopping or order online for convenient and fast delivery straight to your door. Shop around to be sure you have value for money as many stores have similar styles at a cheaper price.

Womens Golf Clothing: The Importance of Comfortable

Friday, September 12th, 2008

When you’re knocking the golf balls down the fairway, you want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible.

With so many styles out there, how can you choose?

There are many things to take into consideration when choosing your next outfit to hit the links with. Of course, you won’t want to be wearing the same thing that everyone else is. But also, comfort is a key factor when it comes to choosing womens golf clothing.

Since golf is a sport that requires full mobility of the body, most women would prefer to have golf attire that increases your body’s natural motion. Having clothes that are tight to the body won’t allow you to get the swing of your dreams. Therefore, some women golfers choose to wear their golf clothes a little looser than their normal outfits.

Having loose clothes will ensure that your clothes are not adversely affecting your swing and will allow you to get the results that you want.

Weather is always a factor in golf

Weather can make or break a day on the course. Thankfully, there is golf clothing available for women for every type of weather that you could expect. The true golf fanatics will hit the course rain or shine, so if this sounds familiar to you then you will have to get the proper outfits for both sides of the weather.

Golfing in the rain can be an absolutely miserable experience if you are not properly prepared. Thankfully, the designers of golf clothing geared to women have taken this under advisement. There is a wide variety of rain pants and jackets that will keep you warm and protected and enjoying the course even though the rain is falling. After all, why should you let the weather affect a great day on the links?

Most golf specialty stores will sell rain gear clothing for women golfers and you can also find some great deals online. So before your next golfing adventure, make sure you are prepared for whatever Mother Nature has to offer.

Womens Plus Size Clothing Sizes Revealed

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

A combination of unhealthy lifestyle choices, genetics and the body’s tendency to store calories as fat are some reasons our society is requiring larger and larger clothing sizes.

The good news is that there are many fashionable plus size clothing companies online not only for women but for teens and girls ages 7 and up. Some may find they are much happier ordering their outfits online eliminating the often stressful and occasionally embarrassing dressing room ordeal. You may even find a greater selection of clothing in your size by shopping online.

Clothing comes in specific sizes for babies, toddlers, young girls and boys; juniors, missy, womens, petite and plus size. For the most part, babies, toddlers and young girls and boys sizes are sized by their age. Sizing becomes much more difficult as we move into the junior clothing, missy clothing and plus size clothing. The same clothing sizes vary widely among different designers and even different name brands by the same designer. One thing you may want to keep in mind when choosing your outfits is to keep it simple. For a slimmer look try to wear similar shades on the top and bottom when putting together an outfit. Experiment with color and learn what is flattering to your hair and skin tones too. A great classic reference book for “Finding the colors that are perfect for you” is Color Me Beautiful

Since clothing sizes are not standardized in the United States, vanity sizing has become a common practice among most major brands of women’s clothing. Vanity Sizing is better described as fooling a woman into thinking she has moved down a dress for example, size 10 may be the new 8. One should refer to the seller’s descriptions of size and fit before using the provided sizing charts when you shop online for womens clothing.

Sizes are most commonly grouped 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and plus or petite sizes. Occasionally, we may still see clothing in small, medium and large but, this seems to be primarily in men and boy sizes. When shopping for women’s clothing online, one should refer to the seller’s descriptions of size and fit before using the provided sizing charts when shopping online for women’s clothing.
